Power elite is a phrase from sociology and politics that refers to the collusion/monopoly of government and corporate power. The phrase was coined by C. Wright Mills in a 1956 book. Power elitists (as in people, their ideologies, and their programs) can be estimated at around the .1% and .01% of wealth-holders and/or income-earners. Unfortunately, power elites wield an out-sized influence over the masses and mainstream media, and they are able to influence the 99% through gaslighting, propaganda, and other means of social engineering. Christianophobia is popular among the power elite; therefore, Christianophobia is heavily promoted and bankrolled by the power elite, making it popular among the masses.
